Welcome to our Reviewer Tools page - one-stop shopping for members of the press. Whether you're a senior editor at a national computer magazine, or are planning your first article for your local PC user's group, this is the place to be.
You can download the evaluation (shareware) version from the page below. This gets you a 30-day evaluation, just like your readers would get - we offer this free to anyone. As a reviewer, we will send you a complimentary registration key, so that you can continue to use ClipMate past the 30 day limit - it's a courtesy that we extend to the press.
Standard 30-day evaluation. It doesn't take the system hostage, or anything nasty. Also there is absolutely no ADWARE or SPYWARE in ClipMate. Our PRIVACY STATEMENT is online.
As a courtesy to the press, we offer registration keys to enable you to access all features past the 30-day limit. Please send a request for a key to brenda@thornsoft.com and explain that you're in the process of reviewing ClipMate - mention the publication please. This offer is good for all forms of media - Newspapers, Magazines, Radio Shows, TV Shows, Web-Based Magazines, Etc..
Q: How much does ClipMate cost?
A: ClipMate sells for $34.95 for an "unlock code", delivered
electronically. Users can also purchase a CD for an additional $9.95,
which includes free shipping. Since everything is downloadable,
the $34.95 option is the most popular. A single-user license allows
a single user to run ClipMate on one or two computers. If they
need to add users, multi-user discounts are available. Also, for
households with lots of computers, we offer a
"whole house" 5-pack for $79.95.
Q: What is the limit on how many items ClipMate can hold?
A: ClipMate can store hundreds, or even thousands of items.
(We've tested with over 30,000 items). Data is written to disk
immediately after being captured, so there is no "save" operation.
We find that most users keep around 300 items in ClipMate.
Q: Is there a manual included?
A: Not any more. But there is a downloadable/printable
PDF file. .
Q: How long have you been selling ClipMate?
A: ClipMate was first uploaded to CompuServe in December 1991.
Since then, it has gone through five major revisions, and has
supported all major Windows platforms (Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1/WfW,
Windows95, Windows98, WindowsME, Windows NT, 2000, and XP). There
are no plans for Mac, OS/2, BE, or Unix.
Q: Is ClipMate available in the retail channel?
A: No. Most of our sales are direct.
Q: What does ClipMate Do?
A: ClipMate is a clipboard extender that "remembers" everything
that you copy to the Clipboard. By selecting an item within ClipMate's
history, it is placed back onto the internal Windows clipboard, ready
for pasting into any application.
Please take our tutorial!
and better yet, watch some of the online demos.
Q: Does ClipMate use Adware/Spyware?
A: No. ClipMate is pure Shareware. Try before you
buy, 30-day evaluation, no "phone home" activation, and the program
does not send data back to us.
